The Designer Bag That Does It All: Bottega Veneta Andiamo Small Review & Styling Tips
If you’ve been searching for a new designer bag to invest in, let me introduce you to the Andiamo Small—a bag that’s quietly redefining what it means to be versatile, elevated, and timeless. It’s the kind of piece that doesn’t scream for attention but always gets noticed.
The Andiamo—Italian for “let’s go”—is Bottega Veneta’s ode to movement and modernity. It debuted in Spring/Summer 2023 from creative director Matthieu Blazy. Crafted from lambskin leather, it features the house’s iconic Intrecciato weave, a technique that reinforces the leather while delivering unmistakable texture and quiet luxury.
Why The Andiamo
Unlike many bloggers, I don’t have a sprawling bag collection—so every piece I choose has to earn its place. I take my time, do the research, and look for versatility: something neutral, timeless, and wearable in more than one way. After nearly a year of consideration, I landed on my second Bottega Veneta design. My first was the Lauren 1980 Bauletto (sadly discontinued), which I absolutely adore. The Andiamo felt like the natural next step—equal parts functional and refined, with that signature Bottega craftsmanship I’ve come to love.
The Strap Game Is Strong
Let’s start with what makes this bag a true chameleon: the strap system. You can wear it crossbody for errands and coffee runs, over the shoulder for a polished daytime look, or go full minimalist and remove the long strap entirely to carry it top-handle for dinner or drinks. It’s rare to find a bag that can shift this effortlessly between roles—and still look chic in every single one.
Small but Mighty (With Interior Organization!)
Despite its name, the Andiamo Small is deceptively roomy. It fits your phone, cardholder, keys, lip balm, and even a compact—without turning into a black hole. And here’s the real win: it includes two interior compartments, and a zip pocket. That kind of thoughtful organization is often missing from designer bags, making this one a standout for function as well as form.
Size Matters
Here’s how the Small stacks up against its siblings:
Small Andiamo: approx. 9.6" W × 7.9" H × 3.9" D
Medium Andiamo: approx. 13.75" W × 9.75" H × 4.25" D
Large Andiamo: approx. 16.5" W x 13.8” H 7.1” D
Whether you’re looking for a compact everyday piece or something more substantial, there’s an Andiamo size that fits your lifestyle.
Color Crush
From rich neutrals like Limestone and Fondant to seasonal shades like Barolo and Cypress, the color options are lux.
I went with Sapele because it’s incredibly versatile. It adds a nice pop against black, works beautifully with navy, and pairs effortlessly with ivory. The shade is a warm mix of cognac and chestnut, giving it a soft reddish-brown tone. If you’re looking for something similar but with less red, Nocciola is a great alternative. Whether your style leans minimalist or bold, there’s a color in the lineup that’ll fit right into your wardrobe.
Here to Stay
With Bottega releasing multiple sizes and variations of the Andiamo, it’s clear this isn’t a one-season wonder. The Small version, in particular, hits that sweet spot of functionality and form—making it a smart investment for anyone looking to build a wardrobe that lasts.
If you’re curating your closet with intention, I feel the Andiamo Small is one of those rare finds that checks every box: versatile, elegant, and quality. It’s not just a bag—it’s a forever piece!
